Permitted Development Rights for Barn Conversions

The conversion of this 4500 sqft oast house to a superb house was one of the first to take advantage of the change in planning law to allow permitted development rights for the conversion of redundant agricultural buildings to residential use.

This project is now well underway. The original kiln towers have been refurbished and the new roofs are under construction. To date there have been very few unforeseen issues with the existing fabric and structure. The existing brickwork has proved to have been very sound. 

The project will be implementing a range of renewable energy measures to ensure future heating and power costs are kept to a minimum.
